...So when Adam was 23 years old, he maxed out his credit card buying a plane ticket to London. During his five weeks in London, he soaked up art, culture and a few pints of Guinness in a place he'd only ever read about in books. When he returned to the States, Adam packed up everything he owned in his car to chase a dream he couldn't really comprehend and moved to a part of the country to which he had never been. North Carolina.
Before he got to that point, Adam grew up the youngest in a rural Iowa farm family of 6. He is the youngest child and his older siblings take every opportunity to remind him of this fact. By working with Dad on the farm and watching his Mom run her sewing & embroidery business, Adam was able to see how hard work pays off and was instilled with a sense of pride in how he works and the quality of his work.
Adam grew up with an enormous extended family. His father was somewhere in the middle of 13 children and his mother somewhere in the middle of 11. All together he has over 100 first cousins, aunts and uncles. Needless to say, Adam understands how to talk to a wide variety of people.
These days Adam has a wide variety of interests. When he isn't playing baseball as a member of the Raleigh Bulls, you'll likely find him out tromping through one of North Carolina's many disc golf courses or out learning to wake board. If that doesn't keep him busy, Adam is a regular attendee of indie rock shows. In order to wind down from the sports and rock n roll, Adam will often settle in to read a good book. Check out his reading list if you are curious. |
